Many people underestimate the emotional impact cancer or any other illnesses have on individuals, their families and carers. Some who have experienced standard methods are now using complementary, non evasive or non toxic therapies alongside their treatment. Generally, most are unaware which complementary treatments are available, where to find them or have limited funds to pay for them. Silver Pearl Trust is a non-profit organisation which has been set up to provide natural complementary therapies, holistic care and specialist advice for those affected by cancer. So far private funding has enabled us to open a beauty and therapy clinic in the heart of London's Mayfair. The New Bond Street clinic which opened in November 2008, is the ultimate tranquil place, where those diagnosed with cancer and there carers can enjoy luxurious and tantalising treatments absolutely free. Our mission at Silver Pearl is to help those people enduring the trauma of cancer on a day-to-day basis, pampering them and restoring well-being. But the clinic is not only open to those people who have been diagnosed with cancer. The logic behind it is that for every paying customer that walks through the door, Silver Pearl will fund the referral of a cancer patient to receive a complementary therapy. With a whole range of treatments on offer, anyone can come in, rejuvinate and help put a smile back on people's faces. The Silver Pearl Trust has just been awarded Sainsbury’s (Mayfair branch) ‘Local Charity of the Year’. We will be spending the next 12 months working closely with Sainsbury’s to come up with exciting marketing and fundraising activities.
